Cricket South Africa has officially released the SA20 2027 Schedule , which will feature the fifth edition of the tournament from January 17 to 21, 2027.
The season will kick off at St George’s Park, Gqeberha with a repeat of last season’s exciting finale between defending champions Sunrisers Eastern Cape and Pretoria Capitals.
The six-team tournament will be made up of 30 league games, followed by Qualifier 1, Eliminator, Qualifier 2 and the Final, which will be played in Newlands, Cape Town, once again.
Defending champions begin title defense
Sunrisers Eastern Cape will defend their title in the first match on January 17 against Pretoria Capitals.
The second day of the tournament will feature Paarl Royals against Joburg Super Kings, while MI Cape Town and Durban’s Super Giants will kick off later in the first week.
There are also a number of double headers during the league stage, which means fans can enjoy non-stop cricket action throughout the tournament.
Newlands to host final again
The SA20 Final will be played at Newlands in Cape Town for the second season in a row on February 21, 2027.
Meanwhile:
- Qualifier 1 will be played at Boland Park, Paarl
- Eliminator and Qualifier 2 will be held at The Wanderers, Johannesburg
The fixture announcement is another significant step in the process as work gets underway on preparations for the start of Season 5, League Commissioner Graeme Smith said, adding that the fixture announcement is the ideal way to kick off the competition.
