However, the Afghanistan Cricket Board has brought back the left arm pacer Fazalhaq Farooqui and Yamin Ahmadzai and Saleem Safi are also part of the team for the crucial white-ball series.
Mohammad Nabi Left Out of Squad
Mohammad Nibi is the biggest name that is missing from the squad as he is one player who is the most senior to have played in the Afghanistan cricket team.
The selectors have taken a different tack this time round and the 41-year-old has been left out of the Ireland series squad as they go about preparing their squad for future international duty.
Farooqi Returns, New Faces Included
Fazalhaq Farooqi has been called up to the ODI squad following a stint on Afghanistan’s last assignment.
Yamin Ahmadzai and Saleem Safi have also come in to munchy up the ball in the attack as well.
However, Afghanistan’s previous squad member, Fareed Malik and Bilal Sami are not among the lineup.
Rahmat Shah to Lead Afghanistan
The two sides will play a five-ODI-match series and Rahmat Shah has been selected to lead the Afghanistan side.
As a dynamo wicket keeper-batter, Rahmanullah Gurbaz, who has been appointed vice-captain, is likely to be the first one to hit the ball.

Five-Match Series Begins in August
The first two games of the ODI series will be at Bready Cricket Ground, Magheramason on August 5.
The series will then go to Belfast where the remaining three ODIs are to be played on August 10, 12 and 15.
The series will provide Afghanistan and Ireland with good international match practice in preparation for their upcoming ICC events and bilateral series.
