The experienced three-man combination returns to the field from injury as Australia name a solid 13-man squad for the two-match World Test Championship series.
Australia have brought in Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood and Nathan Lyon for the upcoming two-Test series against Bangladesh as the experienced trio is coming back from injuries.
Cricket Australia has announced a 13-man squad for the August series, bringing back three of the most experienced bowlers to prepare for a hectic international schedule and the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) cycle.
Senior bowling attack returns
Captain Pat Cummins is back after missing some games in the Ashes due to a lower back stress injury.
Fast bowler Josh Hazlewood is also back after overcoming Achilles and hamstring issues and veteran off-spinner Nathan Lyon is also back after rehabilitation from the hamstring injury he sustained at the Adelaide Test.
Their return means Australia has a full-strength bowling attack with Mitchell Starc and Scott Boland.
Selectors back experienced squad
Chairman of selectors George Bailey welcomed the return of the senior players, and commended their efforts in rehabilitation.
He also said there were still other players available in case Australia were to require reinforcements before or during the series because of injury or workload considerations.
Top order remains unchanged
Australia have maintained the same batting lineup they have been using in the Ashes, despite some poor results.
Jake Weatherald is set to open the scoring with Travis Head, and Marnus Labuschagne is set to remain in the batting order despite his recent poor form.
Meanwhile, wicketkeeper-batter Josh Inglis has been added as another middle order option, providing depth to the squad.
Neser and Doggett miss out
Brendan Doggett and Michael Neser, the two pace bowlers, have not been selected in the final squad, although they both had fantastic performances in the Ashes.
Off-spinner Todd Murphy is also ruled out, but will be on the bench if Australia need cover later in the tour.
Two Tests scheduled in August
The Bangladesh series will kick off in Darwin on August 13-17 before moving to Mackay for the second Test on August 22-26.
The games are part of the ongoing World Test Championship series, in which Australia is leading the way following a stellar start.
The Bangladesh series is also the first of a tough Test schedule for Australia, who will face 14 Test matches in the next eight months, including a major tour of India and a historic 150th anniversary Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground against England.
