Saint Lucia Kings have confirmed their overseas squad for the upcoming 2026 Republic Bank Caribbean Premier League (CPL), which includes international experience, spin-bowling ability, power-hitting, and overall versatility.
The franchise has revealed five overseas signings for the next season: Noor Ahmad, Tim Seifert, Maheesh Theekshana, Charith Asalanka and Shadley van Schalkwyk.
Kings Strengthen Overseas Roster
Saint Lucia Kings are looking to build up their bowling depth for the 2026 season, with no plans to lose the firepower they have in the batting department.
The overseas side consists of players from Afghanistan, New Zealand, Sri Lanka and the USA, providing the Kings with a good balance of international experience.
Noor Ahmad Adds Spin Threat
Afghanistan’s Noor Ahmad will be back in the Kings outfit and will give the bowlers another classy spin option.
The young left arm wrist spinner has proven himself in T20 cricket by his ability to manage the middle overs and make crucial breakthroughs.
The Kings have a white-ball spinner back to help them in the crucial moments of a game.
Tim Seifert Returns to the Kings
New Zealand wicketkeeper-batter Tim Seifert will remain with the Saint Lucia Kings.
Seifert has established himself as an explosive T20 batsman and is a versatile addition for the top and middle order.
His wicketkeeping skills also provide balance to the combination of overseas players for the Kings.
Theekshana Boosts Bowling Attack
Sri Lankan spinner Maheesh Theekshana brings rich experience to the Kings in international and franchise cricket.
Known for his variations and control, Theekshana can be particularly effective during the powerplay while also providing an option during the later stages of an innings.
His signing further bolsters the spin department of the Kings.
Asalanka Adds Batting Depth
Charith Asalanka is Sri Lanka’s other quality batsman and leader.
The left-hander can be relied upon to be a reliable individual batter when needed and can also raise the scoring rate in the end of the game.
The Kings have another great bat who can play in multiple ways.
Shadley van Schalkwyk Completes Overseas Group
USA fast bowler Shadley van Schalkwyk makes Saint Lucia’s five-man overseas squad complete.
The pacer brings in some variety to the bowling attack as he can bowl pace and bounce and also has an option with the new ball and in the death overs.
His addition adds depth to the Kings’ pace department.
Kings Prepare for CPL 2026
The Saint Lucia Kings have built a team that has a mix of spin, pace, wicketkeeping, finishing and international experience.
The franchise will look forward to the five overseas players to make big contributions as they look to prepare for the 2026 CPL season and another bid for the Caribbean Premier League championship.
