Venice Livewires Join Italia T10

Venice has a cricket team. The Venice Livewires have been confirmed as a franchise of Italia T10 Cricket after the franchise was acquired by Livewires Sporting Venture at a signing ceremony held in Hyderabad. The Venice Livewires Italia T10 story has an extra spark for fans in South Asia: former India wicketkeeper-batter MSK Prasad will serve as the team director of the franchise. Here is everything confirmed about the Venice team so far.

The Venice Livewires are the second confirmed team of the new league, after the Rome Gladiators. With two famous Italian cities now on the team list, the first season of Italia T10 is taking real shape ahead of the tournament window from November 18 to 29, 2026.

Venice Livewires Italia T10 Complete Franchise Signing in Hyderabad

The Venice franchise of Italia T10 was acquired by Livewires Sporting Venture, and the signing ceremony was held in Hyderabad in India. A signing in Hyderabad underlines the strong South Asian connection of the new league: the organisers, the investors and a large part of the expected television audience all carry deep links to the cricket world of India and Pakistan.

Professional cricketer TNR Mohit was part of the signing, which gave the ceremony a playing connection as well as a business one. The Venice Livewires name now joins the Rome Gladiators on the official list of Italia T10 franchises, with four more teams still to be announced by the organisers.

The People Behind Venice Livewires

Livewires Sporting Venture is the company that acquired the Venice franchise. Arvind Tadakamalla is the managing director of Livewires Advertising Private Limited, the company behind the venture. The group has moved into cricket ownership with the Venice team, and the appointment of a senior cricket figure as team director shows a serious plan for the first season.

A franchise in a new league needs two things at the start: strong business backing and strong cricket knowledge. The Venice Livewires have set up both sides of that equation early, with the Livewires group on the business side and MSK Prasad ready to lead the cricket side as team director.

MSK Prasad Brings India Experience as Team Director

MSK Prasad is a former India wicketkeeper-batter who represented the Indian team in Test and one-day international cricket. After the playing career, he moved into senior roles in Indian cricket administration and served as the chairman of selectors of the Indian national team. That mix of dressing room experience and selection experience makes him one of the most senior cricket minds attached to Italia T10 so far.

As team director, Prasad will guide the cricket direction of the Venice Livewires: the shape of the squad, the style of cricket and the plans for the first season. In the T10 format, sharp decisions win matches, and a director with decades of top-level experience can give a new franchise a calm and clear head from the very first game.

A Venice Team in a Rome-Based League

Italia T10 is a city-based league, so the Venice Livewires carry the name and the pride of Venice even though every match of the first season will be played in Rome. The model is familiar to fans of franchise cricket: teams represent cities, fans pick a home identity, and the whole competition runs at one host venue. The Rome Gladiators and the Venice Livewires now give the league a natural rivalry between the capital and the famous canal city.

The full season picture sits in the Italia T10 2026 schedule guide: six city franchises, a 12-day window in November 2026 and live coverage planned in more than 30 countries. Like the Abu Dhabi T10 did for the Emirates, Italia T10 now aims to put a new cricket country on the franchise map.

Squad Announcement Still to Come

The playing squad of the Venice Livewires has not been announced yet. The franchise will confirm the players, the captain and the support staff closer to the tournament, and the announcement will be one of the most awaited moments of the Italia T10 build-up for fans in Italy and India alike.

With a team director already in place, the Venice franchise can plan the squad with a clear head: the roles each player must fill, the balance between batting power and bowling control, and the Italian talent that the league wants to showcase. When the squad list is official, this page will be updated with the full Venice Livewires team.

The build-up also gives young Italian cricketers a target to aim at. A place in a franchise squad, in a league with live coverage planned in more than 30 countries, is a dream stage for local players who have grown with the game in Italy. If the Venice Livewires mix international experience with Italian talent, the franchise can become a model for the whole league and a favourite team for neutral fans across Europe and South Asia.
