Rome Gladiators Italia T10: First Franchise Confirmed

Rome Gladiators Italia T10 is official: the Rome franchise is the first team confirmed for the new Italia T10 league, after owner Nadeem Omar completed the formal signing on 7 October 2026. Rome has a Gladiators team in the Italian capital, and the first season race is on. The Rome Gladiators Italia T10 story brings a famous name, a proud city identity and a powerful ROMA INVICTA motto to fans in Rome.

The signing gives Italia T10 a strong first headline. A Rome team was always the natural anchor for a league that will play every match in the Italian capital, and the Gladiators brand brings instant identity, colour and a ready-made fan story to the first season in November 2026.

Rome Gladiators Italia T10: The First Franchise of the New League

The Rome Gladiators franchise was launched and formally signed on 7 October 2026. With that signing, Rome became the first city confirmed for the first season of Italia T10, the new city-based franchise league of Italy. The tournament will run from 18 to 29 November 2026, with six franchises in action and every match played in Rome.

A first signing matters in any new league. It turns an idea into a real competition, gives fans a team to follow and sets the tone for the franchises that follow. The Rome Gladiators now hold that place in Italia T10 history as team number one, and the announcement started the countdown to the remaining five franchise reveals.

Italia T10 is organised by Apex T10 Ltd and endorsed by the Italian Cricket Federation. Aamir Akhtar is the Italia T10 chairman, and Nadeem Shahid is the league CEO and co-founder. The format is fast and simple: matches are 10 overs a side and last about 90 minutes, and each team carries local Italian players plus four international cricketers.

Meet the Owners of Rome Gladiators

The Rome Gladiators are owned by Nadeem Omar, a name that cricket fans in Pakistan know very well. He is joined in the ownership group by co-owners Hasan Omar and Babar Omar. The group brings serious franchise experience to Italy, because the same family name stands behind a long-running and successful T20 team in Pakistan.

Ownership experience is a real advantage in a first season. Building a squad, hiring a coaching group and creating a fan culture in a new market is a hard job, and the Omar group has done that job for years in one of the toughest T20 leagues in the world. Rome fans can expect a professional setup from day one.

The Gladiators Brand and the Quetta Gladiators Connection

Nadeem Omar owns the Gladiators brand, and the most famous team under that brand is Quetta Gladiators of the Pakistan Super League. Quetta Gladiators have been part of the PSL since the start of the league and have built one of the most loyal fan bases in Pakistan cricket, with the purple kit becoming a symbol of pride for the city of Quetta and the province of Balochistan.

The Rome Gladiators now extend that brand into Europe. For fans in Pakistan, the connection is instant: a familiar owner, a familiar name and a familiar fighting spirit in a brand new league. For fans in Italy, the Gladiators name connects the Rome team to a decade of T20 franchise history, big matches and famous wins in the PSL.

ROMA INVICTA: The Identity of the Rome Team

Every strong franchise needs an identity, and the Rome Gladiators have chosen a powerful one: ROMA INVICTA. The Latin phrase means Rome the unconquered, a nod to the ancient history of the city and to the gladiators who once fought in the great arenas of Rome. As a team motto, it sets a clear target for the squad: walk out like gladiators and defend the home city with pride.

The identity also fits the city perfectly. Rome is a city of monuments, warriors and legends, and a cricket team named the Gladiators gives local fans a symbol that belongs to Rome alone. When the first Italia T10 match is played in the capital, the ROMA INVICTA banner will give the home crowd a chant and the home team a mission.

What Happens Next for Rome Gladiators

The squad of Rome Gladiators has not been announced yet. The playing squad, the captain and the coaching group will be confirmed closer to the tournament, once the league completes the remaining franchise signings. Venice Livewires and Brescia Lions are also confirmed, and three more franchises will complete the set of six. MSK Prasad is the team director at Venice Livewires. For Rome, the squad is yet to be announced and will mix Italian players with international cricketers.

The full picture of the season is available in the Italia T10 2026 schedule guide: the tournament runs from 18 to 29 November 2026 in Rome, in the fast T10 format that leagues like the Abu Dhabi T10 have made famous. For the Rome Gladiators, the mission is simple to state and hard to complete: live up to ROMA INVICTA and bring the first Italia T10 title home to the capital.

The first test of the Rome project will come when the league opens the player signing process. The Gladiators name carries a promise of fight in every match, and supporters in Rome will expect a squad that attacks with the bat and defends with energy in the field. A strong first squad announcement will turn the early buzz around the franchise into a real fan movement in the capital, and it will set the standard for the other five teams of Italia T10.
